Standard hosted solutions work well for smaller organisations as they offer all the functionality of a telephone system without the need to purchase expensive equipment. However, the cost can become prohibitive for larger organisations because (unlike a telephone system) there is a charge for each individual user. EMtel hosted PBX provides a solution to this.
Rather than base the charge on the total number of users, it is based on the maximum number of simultaneous calls at any one time. For example, an organisation may have 100 users across multiple sites, but there are never more than 10 users on the phone at any given time, so the cost is based on this. This way of charging is making dramatic savings for for organisations in certain sectors.
Organisation Types who Benefit the Most
Multi-site organisations tend to be the main beneficiaries of EMtel hosted PBX. With a standard hosted solution, these organisations would have to pay for loads of extensions. Putting a telephone system into each site would solve this, but would likely be even more expensive. A final solution is to install a telephone system at one site and have all other sites working as remote extensions to that system. However, this is less reliable, not least because if there were service issues at the main site, this would affect the whole organisation.
